Category 1: Qualifications for Licensed Electricians
Being registration that permits the electrician to carry out electrical work or modification or to supervise electrical work or modification designed to operate at all voltage levels single phase or three-phase, at all power levels.
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized training institution approved by an accreditation body.
At least 15 years practical experience in electrical work evidenced by a voluntary declaration of an electrician or inspector with whom the applicant has worked. The voluntary declaration may be supported by any evidence of the applicant's experience as specified in the declaration.
Successful completion of the Category 1 Licensing Examination
