Registration of Electricians

Steps:

Application Fee - $10,000
A current police record dated less than twelve months before the date of the application
A character reference from a Justice of the Peace, a Notary Public, an attorney-at-law, a medical doctor, a minister of religion, or a police officer who is above the rank of an Inspector
A passport size photograph that is taken no more than one year before the date of the application and that photograph is certified by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public as a true likeness of the applicant; and
The applicant’s qualification:

Category 1 Registration:

A Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized training institution approved by an accreditation body

At least fifteen (15) years’ practical experience in electrical work evidenced by a voluntary declaration of an electrician or inspector with whom the applicant has worked.

No examination is required.

Category 2 Registration:

A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized training institution approved by an accreditation body

At least five (5) years’ practical experience in electrical installation works, evidenced by a voluntary declaration of an electrician or inspector with whom the applicant has worked.

Successful completion of the Category 1 Electrical Technician Licensing Examination.

Category 3 Registration:

Successful completion of the HEART Trust/NTA Level 3 or any other equivalent qualifications.

At least five (5) years’ practical experience in electrical installation works, evidenced by a voluntary declaration of an electrician or inspector with whom the applicant has worked.
